Account and Data Deletion Policy
This policy explains how to request account deletion, what information is ordinarily deleted, and the limited information that may lawfully remain.

1. Purpose and relationship to other policies
This Account and Data Deletion Policy explains how a user may request deletion of a DinnerMVP account and eligible account-linked information. It supplements the Privacy Policy and does not reduce any statutory privacy right.
2. Cancellation is separate from deletion
Canceling a paid subscription stops future renewal but does not automatically delete the account or saved information. Deleting an account does not necessarily cancel or refund a third-party transaction already completed. Users seeking both actions should first manage the subscription through the account billing controls and then submit the deletion request.
3. How to request deletion
A signed-in user may initiate deletion through available account controls. A user who cannot access the account may email support@dinnermvp.com with the subject “Account deletion request” from the account email address. Do not send a password, complete payment information, government identifier, benefit-card number, or medical record.
4. Verification and protection against unauthorized deletion
DinnerMVP may require reasonable verification proportionate to the sensitivity of the information and the risk of deleting the wrong account. An authorized agent must provide legally sufficient proof of authority, and DinnerMVP may confirm the request directly with the account holder. A request that cannot be authenticated may be denied or limited to protect the user.
5. Information ordinarily deleted
Following a verified request, DinnerMVP will delete or deidentify eligible account profile data, meal-planning preferences, saved plans, recipes, replacements, shopping lists, generation records, account-linked analytics, consent choices where appropriate, support or feedback records where applicable, and other account-linked information not subject to a lawful retention exception.
6. Limited retention exceptions
DinnerMVP may retain limited information reasonably necessary to complete a transaction; comply with tax, accounting, consumer-protection, security, fraud-prevention, chargeback, litigation-hold, or other legal duties; exercise or defend legal claims; maintain suppression or opt-out records; document consent; prevent repeated promotion redemption; or protect users and the Service. Retained information will be restricted to the applicable purpose and retained only as long as reasonably necessary or legally required.
7. Backups and technical completion
Active-system deletion will be completed within the period required by applicable law. Residual copies may remain temporarily in encrypted backups until ordinary rotation, unless a shorter legally required period applies. Backup information is not returned to ordinary production use except for security, continuity, or legal necessity and will remain subject to applicable protections.
8. Third-party accounts and disclosures
Deleting DinnerMVP does not delete information independently maintained by Stripe, Supabase, Resend, a retailer, shopping provider, authentication provider, email provider, device platform, or other third party. Information previously disclosed at your direction is governed by the recipient’s policy, although DinnerMVP will instruct processors to delete information when legally required.
9. Consequences and irreversibility
Deletion may permanently remove access to saved plans, preferences, shopping lists, referral status, promotional entitlements, and account history. Some deleted information cannot be restored. Creating a later account with the same email does not guarantee recovery of deleted information or prior promotional eligibility.
10. Response appeals and nondiscrimination
DinnerMVP will respond within the period required by applicable law and will explain any material denial or limitation where permitted. To appeal a privacy-request decision, email support@dinnermvp.com with the subject “Privacy appeal.” DinnerMVP will not unlawfully discriminate against a person for exercising a privacy right.
